‘Toxic Childhood’ by Sue Palmer

How the modern world is damaging our children and what we can do about it.

A highly controversial book that sparked an international debate as did for example ‘The Battle Hymn of The Tiger Mother’ by Amy Chua, even though these books are not necessarily comparable.

The Toxic Childhood book has been on many parents and educator’s minds and heated debates followed its release in 2007. Not much has changed since then, the addressed topics in the book are more relevant than ever.

Parents and educators alike are looking for ways to guide and nurture our children in our fast changing and fast paced environment. What has worked yesterday is very often not applicable anymore.

Way more attention is needed today to raise happy, healthy and well-adjusted young generations.

Please have a look at Sue Palmer’s book and her view on the challenges we are facing and the discussion around ‘Nature vs Nurture’. Perhaps there might be some valuable insight here, or there …

Her book is certainly ‘food for thought’ here with us on 7minutesonline.
