Are our traditional school concepts outdated and asking for groundbreaking reforms?

‘NEW SCHOOL OF HAPPINESS’ – CHENNAI INDIA

A bold and courageous approach is on the horizon.

Are our traditional school concepts outdated and asking for a groundbreaking reform?
Are students and teachers challenged and nurtured in our schools?
Are we ready for the ‘NEW SCHOOL OF HAPPINESS’ where students are taught Emotional Intelligence aside from necessary facts – in a human environment?

The Kurani architecture studio is planning exactly that:  The ‘Riverbend School’ in Chennai India, focusing on teaching practices which enable young students to develop  social, artistic, intellectual, physical and environmental skills, set in a village like campus with Zen gardens, walkways and community areas.

Aside from teaching facts students will be able to discover, experiment and invent in a positive surrounding and encouraged to excel on all levels of their human existence.

Danish Kurani, the founder of Kurani architecture studio is leading the new school project in India which will begin with the construction of the campus by the end of 2018.

Is the ‘Riverbend School’ a new concept, and if yes how does it set itself apart from the ‘Waldorf School’ founded by Rudolf Steiner and or the ‘Montessori School’ developed by Dr Maria Montessori – will some ask.

Would you send your child to the ‘Riverbend School’, or any other school outside of the mainstream school system?

In that context it might also be interesting to have a look at the newly published book by William Stixrud, PhD and Ned Johnson: ‘The Self-Driven Child’

‘The science and sense of giving your kids more control over their lives’
